Portland Japanese Garden

On our last full day in Portland we met up with my friends Dave, Sarah, and their daughter Lily, and went to visit the Japanese Gardens.

We had a very tasty picnic on a patio overlooking the Portland skyline before we went into the gardens themselves. That is where the first two photos were taken.

By the time we actually got into the Japanese garden it was getting a bit dark and the gardens were about to close, so it was not ideal for taking pictures. I still managed to take a couple since it was so beautiful that you couldn't swing a stick without hitting a photo opportunity. However, they certainly aren't as nice as the many other photos that have been taken there.

The nicest part of the day was of course spending time with Dave and Sarah, whom I don't get to see nearly enough since we all stopped living/working in NY. It was also good to get to know Lily a bit more, as she was slightly less interactive the last time we saw her over a year ago in San Francisco. She seemed to like Carrie better, but I won't hold it against her.
